Vinnie Jones open to Leeds United comeback under Jesse Marsch

Former Leeds United midfielder Vinnie Jones claims that he’s got his boots ready and wants Jesse Marsch to give him a call.

Jones, who thanked Marcelo Bielsa for everything he did at Elland Road, criticised the squad for the lack of a solid foundation in front of the defence.

He believes that there’s nobody strong enough to shield the back line which has seen them concede far too many goals.

He told Easy Odds, “They need to shore things up and protect the goal. Their recent results have been horrendous, conceding far too many goals. They need some steel in front of the defence, need to scrap for everything – they need to find the missing link.

“Leeds fans, I’ve got my boots ready. Jesse, just give me a call.”

Jones would at least come in with the personality that’s lacking inside the dressing room.

This Leeds side lacks players who are willing to rub opponents the wrong way and get into grudge battles with them.

Maybe Bielsa inculcated this system and hopefully, under Marsch things are different.

We have no idea as to the kind of manager he’ll be at Elland Road.

Bielsa, despite being a disciplinarian, was someone the players could look to as a friend.

Marsch needs to do something similar but ensure his training methods are different as he would not want a repeat of the stale ideas under the former regime.
