Kai Morrall picked out as 'hugely exciting' talent already built for future at Leeds United
Kai Morrall is a name that Leeds United may have to get used to.
Arriving from Liverpool in 2025, the young Irish winger has already signed his scholarship at Elland Road.
Named among the brightest talents at Premier League clubs, he may not be ignored for much longer at Thorp Arch.
Daniel Farke isn't exactly known for bringing through young talent regularly, but has made exceptions.
Leeds' pre-season tour saw several academy players used frequently, but that stopped once the real action got underway.
And now, Morrall is looking to get his name into that first-team picture.
What's been said about Kai Morrall?
There is excitement brewing in the Republic of Ireland over Morrall.
Primarily playing with the under-18s since his arrival, the winger has also been used at full-back by the Whites.
That has also seen him make his Ireland under-17s debut in September, picking up another four caps.
And the noise from his home country is only increasing.
Irish journalist, Conor McEvoy, with nearly 40,000 followers on X, has picked out Morrall with attention growing.
He states that the attacker is a "hugely exciting prospect" with his pace, power and attacking ability already.
But, as already seen at Thorp Arch, he predicts that a future wing-back role may suit him even more.
With the move to Leeds seen as right for his future and immediate pathways over Liverpool, now it's time to prove it.
Were promises made to Kai Morrall?
You would certainly have to expect so.
Leeds have slowed down their academy recruitment since the days of Victor Orta, but it's good to see some signings made from fellow Premier League sides.
Pascal Struijk and Crysencio Summerville are two of the names that really shone in the academy after signing and that's the inspiration right there.
Morrall could look to the likes of Summerville, who tormented young defenders before being given that chance in the Premier League.
For him to leave Liverpool and move to West Yorkshire so young, you'd imagine that the pathway set out to him in talks was very positive.
You don't just get handed that, though, and he has to go out and prove he's worthy of spots above his age range.
With the noise from Ireland particularly positive, it may not be long until he gets that shot.
FA Cup, anyone?
