Joe Rodon sums up Tarik Muharemovic with one word after Leeds win vs Nottingham Forest
Joe Rodon was stunned by Tarik Muharemovic's showing in Leeds United's 1-0 win over Nottingham Forest on Saturday.
Anton Stach's late free-kick secured the three points for Daniel Farke's side at the City Ground.
Muharemovic made his official debut in the contest after signing in a £34million deal earlier this summer.
The Bosnian had impressed in pre-season and there were high hopes about what he could bring to the Whites' defence.
The 23-year-old justified all the hype in the contest, showing supporters why the hierarchy were happy to splash the cash on him.
Rodon reacted on social media, and it is safe to say that he loves his new teammate already.
How did Joe Rodon react to Tarik Muharemovic's Leeds debut?
The Welsh international raved about Muharemovic's showing in his first competitive game in English football.
The latter took to Instagram on Saturday to share a message after making his bow.
He said: "Definitely a debut to remember! First one in the Premier League. MOT."
Rodon summed him up with one word, saying "superstar" with a shooting star and white heart emoji.
Stach, Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Willy Gnonto were among the fellow teammates to like the post.
How did Muharemovic perform on Leeds debut?
Muharemovic started on the left-side of a back three, and he looked very comfortable with the Premier League.
He completed 89 per cent of his passes in the contest, and made three line-breaking passes, per Fotmob data.
Five of his passes were into the final third, and he also took 46 touches, showing how confident he is on the ball.
Defensively, he made a total of seven contributions, with five clearances and two interceptions, and also recorded one recovery.
In terms of duels, he failed with his only one on the ground and won just two of seven in the air, for a 29 per cent success rate.
That was the only negative about his display, and Rodon was right to label him as a superstar, because he will be, if he continues on the current trajectory.
He will likely become a fan favourite, but also a teammates favourites, if he can maintain the levels that he showed on his debut for the Peacocks.
The only concern may end up being whether they can keep him for the long-term.
