Dominic Calvert-Lewin is hitting top stride again at Leeds United already.

After a sensational first season at Elland Road, the England international has picked up where he left off.

Calvert-Lewin terrorised Newcastle on Monday evening, as Leeds cruised to a 4-1 victory in LS11.

The striker scored his second, and so he thought another, of the season as Leeds went third in the Premier League.

With Crystal Palace next up at Elland Road again on Sunday, he already has his eye on more in his favourite stadium.

Calvert-Lewin is the epitome of that, and Daniel Farke can't stop waxing lyrical about his number nine.

Speaking on Monday Night Football after the win, Carragher admitted that he left Everton at the perfect time to rejuvinate his career.

"For me, he's the type of player when you look at as an ex-Premier League centre-back," he said.

"Thinking, I'm glad I'm not playing now.

"He would have been an absolute nightmare to handle, his leap, I love watching him play."

It's a classic football tale, and his last few years couldn't be more contrasting at Everton and Leeds.

Those at Elland Road aren't saints, and they've hammered their fair share of players, and that's what happened to Calvert-Lewin on Merseyside towards the end.

Injuries took their toll, and he was missing confidence and therefore chances that came his way when on the pitch.

Calvert-Lewin took his summer as a free agent to get to the bottom of those issues, and he's been sensational for Leeds since.

In Farke, he has a manager that loves him, and the Leeds fans accept that while he will miss plenty, he'll also score plenty.

It's a match made in heaven, and that is exploding in the best possible way for everyone involved now.

For Calvert-Lewin, he just has to keep doing what he's doing and that hero status will only get bigger and bigger.
