Ian Wright has backed Dominic Calvert-Lewin to thrive for Leeds United against Manchester United.

Premier League action is set to return to Elland Road on Sunday as the Red Devils make the trip.

Both come into the clash of the back of a defeat, with Michael Carrick's side losing to Atletico Madrid in mid-week.

Things are starting to unravel at Old Trafford and pressure is building in the dugout.

That hasn't been helped by Lisandro Martinez and his comments at Metropolitano Stadium.

The Argentine has peaked the interest of Wright as Calvert-Lewin prepares to face Man United.

How Dominic Calvert-Lewin will win Lisandro Martinez battle?

There has been plenty of praise aimed towards the Whites for their performances this campaign.

Calvert-Lewin has played a key role as part of that with his exploits leading the line in LS11.

The 29-year-old already has four goals to his name this season and his performances have been top drawer.

There is a feeling that he will cause problems for Man United and Martinez in particular.

Wright has echoed that on the latest episode of Stick to Football as he used a strange saying to get his thoughts across.

He said: "They can't play Lisandro Martinez against Dominic Calvert-Lewin. He'll have him on his back in a rucksack. He can't [start], did you see what Dominic Solanke did to him?"

The Arsenal legend makes a good point, but what can the Whites expect if he does start?

How did Martinez perform for Man United vs Tottenham?

Wright mentions Solanke after he scored a late equaliser for Tottenham at Old Trafford in their last Premier League outing.

Martinez got caught under the ball that day and was too focused on wrestling with the striker as his header found the net on 92 minutes.

Martinez lost two duels that day and gave away two fouls as he looked to deal with the Englishman.

He didn't get involved in an aerial duel, but that will almost certainly change when facing Calvert-Lewin.

The Leeds striker needs to lean on the Argentine and look to get as much change out of him as possible.

It is now down to the 29-year-old to, as Wright puts it, put him "on his back in a rucksack".
