Leeds United have been handed a major boost in their quest to sign highly-rated Hertha Berlin attacker Matheus Cunha this summer.

In an interview with Tag 24, the Hertha director of football Fredi Bobic has claimed that Cunha could be leaving this summer as there are offers on the table for the Brazilian.

One of those offers could be from Leeds United as he is reportedly on the Yorkshire club's radar, per Sky Sports' Max Bielefield.

Discussing Cunha's future and a potential sale this summer, Bobic said, "He has incredible qualities. I am very happy that he is with us, has no clause and can contest the future with Hertha.

"But, is he so happy here that he wants to stay or does he want to move on? We'll see. Offers are always there."

Let's get this one done

Links with the Brazilian are plenty of reasons to get the Leeds faithful excited. The Hertha Berlin winger is a hard-working player who likes the ball at his feet to make things happen.

Unlike most attacking players who like to run the channels and find spaces behind opposition defences, Cunha is someone who enjoys getting himself into the game, having drawn comparisons with Roberto Firmino.

While the Liverpool forward is criticised for not sticking the ball into the back of the net often enough, Cunha is quite capable of doing. He's bagged 8 goals in 28 games this season and has also provided as many assists.

According to Berliner Kurier, the Brazilian is likely to cost around £34.5million this summer - making him a club-record signing for the Whites.

There's a good chance that the Whites will be unwilling to match that transfer fee, but these are only initial stages and negotiations could begin soon if there is a genuine interest in the player.
