Harry Wilson backed to replace 'Jekyll and Hyde' Leeds team-mate vs Sunderland
Harry Wilson's Leeds United career has been a bit of a slow burner thus far in truth.
Signed on a free transfer from Fulham in the close season, the arrival of Wilson was heralded as something of a coup for the Whites.
But Wilson has made just two starts for Leeds thus far, and only one of those in the Premier League, while he has a further five from the bench.
The 29-year-old was an unused substitute in last week's 1-1 draw with Manchester United, with Daniel Farke opting not to bring him on despite chasing the winner.
Wilson has yet to score or assist in his Leeds career, and is looking for a spark to ignite his Elland Road career.
However, BBC broadcaster Adam Pope thinks Wilson may come in for Sunday's trip to Sunderland.
Who could Harry Wilson replace in Leeds' clash vs Sunderland?
There is still plenty of time for Wilson to get kick-started at Elland Road, and there is no doubting his talent.
And Farke may be pondering using him against the Black Cats in a game where Leeds will sense blood.
Indeed, Pope was discussing team selection with Jonathan Buchan on the Don't Go To Bed Just Yet podcast.
The latter asked if Sean Longstaff would be someone who could potentially come into the starting XI.
Pope instead named Wilson as an option, saying he could come in for Ao Tanaka who he felt had a "Jekyll and Hyde" performance against Manchester United.
He said: "Are you looking at you keep it as it is (formation wise), but then you go Wilson for Tanaka, say, who had a bit of a Jekyll and Hyde game I felt against Man United?
"When is Wilson sort of ready to really hit the ground running from a start in the XI? Hopefully soon because I think he can be the difference maker.
"That will all depend on how he's performed this week I would have thought in training."
Daniel Farke can make brave Harry Wilson decision
By and large Leeds have been excellent in the Premier League this season.
But there is a sort of feeling that Farke could be bolder and more proactive at times.
Well, he has the chance to make the brave decision to start Wilson at Sunderland on Sunday.
The Black Cats are in abysmal form this season, and it's a real opportunity for Leeds to put three points on the board.
It feels like the sort of game where Leeds will sense blood and with Wilson they have someone who can help them get on the front foot and put pressure on Sunderland.
