Four out injured, three doubts - confirmed Reading team news ahead of Leeds clash
Reading head coach Mark Bowen has delivered a negative fitness update of seven members of his squad ahead of the trip to Leeds United on Saturday.
Bowen confirmed that Chris Gunter, Matt Miazga, Lucas Joao, and Lucas Boye will all miss the game at Elland Road with long-term problems.
The Royals boss also revealed that Pele and Jordan Obita have been in light training, whereas Ayub Masika will also be assessed before the game.
Bowen confirmed the negative update despite the Royals having a full week of rest before their trip to West Yorkshire.
"Pele trained lightly yesterday and came through it. He trained today too so he's in my thoughts for the weekend - Obita as well," he told Berkshire Live.
"Masika missed the past two days with a stomach complaint so we'll have to assess him and he might miss out.
"Gunter, Miazga, Joao, Boye are more long term. Miazga another 10 days but the others three or four weeks down the line."
Joao will be one of the biggest misses for Reading, with the Portuguese forward having had a great impact since moving from Sheffield Wednesday.
The 26-year-old has scored five goals and added three assists in his 18 appearances, making most of his impact from his seven substitute outings.
Reading gave Leeds one of their toughest challenges earlier in the season in the Whites' 1-0 win at the Madejski Stadium. Looking at Sofa Score's attacking momentum graph, they enjoyed two dominant spells in the first half and one in the second - although they may not have lasted long, it is certainly more than some sides have managed this season.
