Everything said about Brighton vs Leeds United on Match of the Day

Leeds United battled their way to an impressive 1-1 draw at Brighton on Saturday afternoon.

Daniel Farke was delighted with the effort at the AMEX Stadium, but knew it could have been so much more.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin could have had a hat-trick in the first half alone, while Ao Tanaka and Anton Stach missed big chances, too.

Naturally, a team of Brighton's quality came back into it and missed chances of their own, but it only shows how far Leeds have come.

It leaves Leeds unbeaten in three and on five points with two league home games to come at Elland Road before the extended international break.

Despite the positivity, Danny Murphy believes some in the squad won't be happy at all.

Calvert-Lewin has work to do

Leeds fans love their number nine, and he will know that he should have done much better on the south coast.

Speaking on Match of the Day on Saturday, Murphy was impressed with the travelling Whites, but did share some regrets.

"Calvert-Lewin, he'll be disappointed," he said.

"These are really good chances that he's had, a player of his quality.

"It gives you something to build on and when you don't start taking your chances, you start fearing the worst."

It's not often that anybody goes to the AMEX and creates as much as Leeds did, something the German pointed out.

Rob Edwards finished his segment agreeing with Farke, admitting that all three points should have come home.

"I agree with Daniel, actually, the way the game panned out, the chances they had, maybe they should have won," he ended.

Of course, it could have gone so much better on Saturday, but everyone would have taken this before kick-off.

It only goes to show how far Leeds have come, staying unbeaten against the likes of Brentford and Brighton already, but being disappointed.

Calvert-Lewin is a poacher, he will continue to get in these positions while terrorising defences in the Premier League.

All he needs to do is remain fit, and the goals will come.
