Leeds ace Dominic Calvert-Lewin is right up there with global superstars Erling Haaland and Kylian Mbappe.

Calvert-Lewin has been on an impressive streak at Leeds, with seven goals in his last six matches for the Elland Road outfit.

He continued his form with the equaliser as Leeds drew 1-1 with Sunderland, finishing off a perfect team goal, where every Whites player touched the ball.

His exploits look even more impressive after a new reveal.

How does Calvert-Lewin rank with Mbappe and Haaland?

Calvert-Lewin's exploits for Leeds have not gone unnoticed, with many observers mentioning a World Cup call-up with England.

Opta statistian Jonny Cooper revealed that only three players in Europe's big five leagues have scored in six games in a row.

Calvert-Lewin is one of them, with Mbappe and Haaland being the other two players to do so.

How likely is an England call-up for Calvert-Lewin?

Surely, if the Whites star is putting up numbers that only Mbappe and Haaland can match, then he must be in the frame for Thomas Tuchel's squad.

Former Premier League midfielder Danny Murphy believes that he could make the squad, if he continues in this vein.

Per, BBC, he said: "If he maintains this level of form until the end of the season, then he's going to be in a conversation for a World Cup place because his level at the moment is really high and he offers something different.

"He is fantastic in the air and could give teams real problems off the bench."

He has not featured for his country for four years, last playing in July 2021 against Ukraine in the rescheduled European Championships, so it would be an extraordinary development.

  • Calvert-Lewin has 11 caps for the England national team
  • He has scored four goals and has zero assists in those matches
  • His last goals for his country came with a double in March 2021 against San Marino

Tuchel does not have many options behind leading man Harry Kane, with Ollie Watkins and Calvert-Lewin being the main contenders for a back-up role.

Liam Delap and Ivan Toney are also potential options, but Watkins and the Peacocks ace are surely ahead of them in the pecking order.

If Calvert-Lewin continues scoring at this rate, then he has to be on the plane for the tournament in the United States, Canada and Mexico.

It would be a travesty if he did not make it, if he can keep up his current form.
