Celebrity fan feels sorry for Leeds ace Anton Stach after what he saw vs Man United - 'bit like Traitors this'
Anton Stach has not yet hit the same heights for Leeds United this season as he did last.
Leeds forked out around £17million to sign the Germany international from Hoffenheim in the summer of 2025.
Stach instantly became a fans' favourite, and was crucial in helping Leeds ultimately finish a comfortable 14th in the Premier League last season.
The 27-year-old scored the winner in an opening-day win at Nottingham Forest.
However, since then his form has been somewhat patchy, and he struggled to make much impact in Sunday's 1-1 draw against Manchester United.
Kaiser Chiefs bassist Simon Rix thinks there are reasons as to why Stach is not yet hitting the same heights.
Why Anton Stach might be underperforming for Leeds United
Despite his perceive struggles, Stach still made four key passes against the Red Devils and created one big chance.
His pass completion rate was down at 73 per cent, though, which is below what you would usually expect from him.
Rix was speaking on the Don't Go To Bed Just Yet podcast, and opined that Stach is maybe playing a little out of position.
He also felt that he was maybe trying too hard at times to atone for errors he was making during the game.
Indeed, Rix likened Stach's performance to an episode of BBC One hit shot 'Traitors' in an interesting analogy.
He said: "He's been asked to be the total creative force, which is kind of what Harry Wilson should be doing, but it's not really exactly his game.
"I did think he was slightly poor at times, but then also I feel like that didn't stop him trying. He was putting himself about, he was running about, he was getting in position.
"Sometimes the touch was bad, sometimes the pass was bad, but he was running around and almost like the fact he got noticed, it's a bit like Traitors this, he actually got noticed, he noticed he was bad because he was trying really hard.
"What I feel sorry for on Stach is, if you take James Justin's performance, right, I thought it was his fault for the goal because he just lost his man. I thought he had a generally good game but he could easily have had people on his back about his performance.
"But no one's noticed him because he's a defender and it's like you know whatever. I feel like Stach, it wasn't his best game and it's not been his best season, but I think there are some extenuating circumstances, which is he's played a bit out of position."
Anton Stach has credit in the bank at Leeds
There has to be an element of patience with Stach.
Let's not forget it wasn't too long he sustained a pretty nasty ankle injury, which curtailed his World Cup dream.
Leeds have enjoyed a pretty strong campaign so far, but there are always issues to iron out.
One of them is how Farke gets the best out of summer arrival Harry Wilson.
Ideally, you would want a fully in form Stach playing with Wilson, not having concerns over who to play.
Form is temporary, class is permanent as the old saying goes, and Stach has plenty of time to turn things around.
