Bruno Guimaraes may have gotten away with one as Leeds United lost to Arsenal on Saturday.

The Brazil international was the man to net the winner as he passed an effort into the corner past James Trafford.

The keeper may have felt he could have done better as he got down to it before the ball flashed past him.

That was a fair source of annoyance for the travelling fans as their side had put in an excellent shift.

It feels as though that frustration overshadowed the celebrations as the Gunners celebrated at the corner flag.

Guimaraes looks to have been fortunate as punishment should have been seen at the Emirates.

What did Bruno Guimaraes do wrong vs Leeds United?

The second half substitute found the corner with an excellent strike and went off to celebrate.

His first port of call was to motor over to the far corner and put his hands up to cup his ears.

The Brazilian wasn't done there though as he continued to lap up the noise from the Emirates.

He then opted to jump over the advertising hoardings before leaning over into the home supporters.

Former Premier League official Keith Hackett believes Guimaraes should have been booked for his actions.

Speaking exclusively to MOT Leeds News, Hackett said: "For consistency, this was a goal celebration that should have resulted in a yellow card in line with the law."

That was the general feeling of the LS11 faithful, but what are the rules in this situation?

What does the law say about Guimaraes' Arsenal celebration?

There was no movement from referee Paul Tierney to show a card to the Gunners' goalscorer.

It seemed as if that was never on the agenda, despite it being known as a bookable offence.

That is stated in the IFAB Laws of the Game under Law 12.

It deems that a player must be booked if they are seen to "approach spectators in a manner that causes safety issues"

It seems silly, but that is what Guimaraes has done here by endangering his own safety.

The celebration simply should have been marked with a yellow card, but that obviously didn't happen on the day.
