Aston Villa's move for Watford attacker and reported Leeds United target now appears to be in danger of falling through.

According to Sky Sports Italy journalist Fabrizio Romano, everything appeared set for the 24-year-old to move to Villa Park with the clubs having a complete agreement.

However, he still has to agree personal terms and there's a chance of the move falling through which opens the door for a move elsewhere.

Romano wrote on Twitter, "There are still things to resolve for Ismaila Sarr deal between Aston Villa and Watford. Negotiations in danger after progress made earlier today.

"Aston Villa and Watford have full agreement - not completed yet on player side."

French media outlet Foot Mercato reported that Sarr had completed his medical to join Villa with a four-year deal agreed.

They also claimed that Leeds looked very close to signing the player and this roadblock in his move can see them seizing the initiative.

We will not be surprised if the Whites now amplify their interest in the Senegal international before his move to Villa is back on track.

Leeds need a striker this summer and while Sarr is not an out-and-out number nine, he has played centrally on numerous occasions.

He offers a goal-scoring threat and his pace makes him incredibly hard to keep up with - something that will be useful against the better teams in the league as they tend to play higher lines.

It will be interesting to see how this transfer saga transpires in the coming days.
