Angus Kinnear has confirmed that Leeds United are looking at the first phases of redevelopment at Elland Road.

The home of the Whites has already undergone many changes, with new floodlights being installed for the 2-1 defeat against West Ham on Friday.

As well as floodlights, Leeds and Andrea Radrizzani have had to upgrade their media and broadcasting facilities for the Premier League.

What comes next?

Speaking at the latest LUFC Supporters Trust AGM, Kinnear confirmed that Leeds are looking at the first phases of redevelopments for two stands.

"Angus said they are currently looking at the first phase redevelopment of the North and West Stands," the Trust wrote on their official Twitter account.

It would be the perfect time to make these changes at Elland Road.

With Yorkshire still in Tier 3, no fans are allowed to be present for matches, and even when they are permitted - only 2,000 to 4,000 will be at the ground, and likely in the East Stand.

Leeds are still acclimatising to Premier League football, and modernising Elland Road would certainly help that transition.

The Whites currently have over 20,000 season ticket holders, and easily sold out up to 40,000 every match week in the Championship.

There is no questioning that there would be no problems doing exactly the same should the capacity be extended by 10,000 seats or more, especially now we have returned to the top-flight.

It will be a considerable amount of time before Elland Road is packed to the rafters and sold out after this pandemic, but it appears that Kinnear and Leeds are already making plans to make more seats available for when it happens.
