Adam Pope slams Alioski for 'crazy moments' in Leeds win v Fulham

BBC commentator Adam Pope criticised Gjanni Alioski for some "crazy moments" that could have cost Leeds United the win against Fulham.

However, on a breathless night in West London, Leeds finally put the curse behind them that had seen their last win in the capital come back in December 2017.

The three points were earned by Patrick Bamford, who sent the perfect message to Gareth Southgate after being left out of his England squad, with a goal and an assist for Raphinha.

If one player was off it, it was Alioski and Pope said, "Alioski having a few crazy moments which has brought needless pressure at times but there has been plenty of decent stuff.

"Oh and the VAR decision to rule Ayling’s goal out ... not having it. Roberts is leaning forward to start running. It’s ruining it."

The curse is dead!

It was never really a thing, of course, but that didn't stop the Leeds fans from believing in it absolutely.

That's it though. No more talk of the London curse and we can look forward to our trips down south again.

We can also look forward to another season in the Premier League after a win that sees us move onto 39 points – a total that would have seen us safe in all but one of the past 10 seasons.

It could have been easier.

Luke Ayling had a goal ruled out for offside early on in the first-half but overall Leeds were good value for money for the win.

Fulham are a decent side, though, and gave a really good account of themselves in their battle against relegation.

If they keep playing like they did tonight, they'll escape the trapdoor.

As for Alioski, to his credit, he improved in the second half and he's never been a natural left-back.
