Wilfried Gnonto may have final chance to save Leeds United career vs Tottenham
Wilfried Gnonto may be able to save his Leeds United career in their clash with Tottenham on Monday evening.
The Italian winger has struggled to impose himself in Daniel Farke’s plans this season, making 20 appearances in the Premier League this season.
He has notched three assists in that time, but that has not been enough to earn a selection in most matches.
His contract expires in 2028, but the Whites may well look to move the outcast on in the summer if he can’t prove that he has the required quality.
Leeds need players that can take them to the next level, and right now, Gnonto does not look like he can be one of them.

Why Gnonto may have final Leeds opportunity
Noah Okafor is set to miss Leeds’ next two matches, and Gnonto seems like the obvious candidate to replace him in the team.
The Swiss international has locked down his spot on the left-flank, with eight goals and one assist in the top-flight, leading to a lack of game time for his colleague.

However, his injury could present a final chance for the former Zurich man to prove he belongs at the elite table with the Peacocks.
If he cannot do that, then Farke and Co may decide that his future does not remain at Elland Road, and they would not be short of suitors.
The likes of AC Milan, Inter Milan and Juventus have been linked with a move for the LS11 ace.
How has Gnonto performed in the Premier League
Gnonto has started just four of his 20 league appearances this season, playing an average of 23 minutes per game.
He has recorded 0.5 shots, and averaged 0.4 key passes, with a cross success of just 12 per cent, according to data from Sofascore.
| Gnonto’s stats this season | Premier League |
| Minutes per game | 23 |
| Shots | 0.5 |
| Key passes | 0.4 |
| Cross success | 12% |
| Dribble success | 31% |
The 22-year-old has completed just 31 per cent of his dribble attempts when he has been on the pitch, which is not the most encouraging sign.
So far, he has not shown that he can perform at the top level, and he needs to have a big showing against the Lilywhites and then Brighton, if the Yorkshire side are to keep him around and not sell him.
