Noah Okafor concern showcases what Leeds United must do in summer

Noah Okafor looks to have played his last game of the season for Leeds United at Elland Road.

And what an impressive season it has been for the Swiss international.

Despite having started just 19 times in a new league in a new country for a team predicted to suffer relegation, Okafor has managed eight goals and one assist in the Premier League.

Alongside Dominic Calvert-Lewin, Okafor has carried the weight of Leeds’ attack on his shoulders, and to good effect in recent weeks.

However, Okafor missed Leeds’ clash with Tottenham and could miss the final home game of the season, demonstrating what the Whites must do as a matter of urgency this summer.

Leeds United must sign competition for Noah Okafor

Had it not been for injuries, Okafor would likely be at the summit of Leeds’ scoring charts this season.

The 25-year-old has averaged a goal every 196 minutes, which, if maintained over the course of a full season, would see him finish on roughly 17 goals, in theory.

However, the chances of him being fit for a full season are rather slim, especially when taking into account the fact that he has already missed seven games in the current campaign and is likely to miss at least one more.

With that in mind, it’s clear that the Whites must sign someone who can step into his place if an injury were to happen again, without a clear drop in quality.

As of right now, Leeds do not have that option, though they may have it by the end of the season.

Largie Ramazani could be Leeds’ best bet

Largie Ramazani is a fan favourite at Leeds, but Daniel Farke opted against keeping him in the squad this season.

However, the Belgian could return to Elland Road in the summer, and given his attacking qualities, he could be the perfect understudy to Okafor.

Ramazani has managed six goals and one assist in 11 LaLiga starts on loan at Valencia, with an average of one goal every 190 minutes played.

He has a very similar profile to that of Okafor, and if he were to return, it would tick one of their summer priorities off before a penny has been spent.
