Leeds United could potentially help Juventus striker Lois Openda kickstart his career at Elland Road.

The Belgium international has struggled for game time at the Turin club and looks to be on his way out of the Allianz Stadium.

According to Tuttomercatoweb on 9 May, given that the Bianconeri have an obligation to buy the 26-year-old from RB Leipzig for around £ 35 million in the summer, he’s practically “unsellable” at this point.

The news outlet reports that the most realistic scenario would be to send the centre-forward out on loan with an option to buy.

Openda has been linked with Leeds ahead of the upcoming transfer window and the West Yorkshire outfit have an opportunity to strengthen their attack with another bargain deal.

Leeds United to be tempted by Lois Openda deal

Leeds signed Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Lukas Nmecha as free agents last summer to bolster the number nine position and the deals have arguably paid off.

Fans in LS11 didn’t have high hopes for the former Everton striker, but he has been a catalyst to ensure Premier League safety at Elland Road.

As for Nmecha, he has played his part coming off the bench for the Whites and scoring some important goals.

While Openda wouldn’t necessarily come for free, the West Yorkshire outfit will be confident of pulling off a bargain transfer for the striker who seems unwanted at Juventus.

While not entirely a repeat of the Peacocks’ transfer policy from last summer, Daniel Farke could potentially once again be handed a centre-forward who many probably don’t expect much from.

Lois Openda can be deadly at his best at Elland Road

It isn’t surprising to see Openda emerge as a target for Leeds given his previous pedigree in the Bundesliga.

The striker spent two full seasons at Leipzig, scoring 41 goals and providing 18 assists in 90 appearances during that time.

There’s clearly a deadly striker in the Belgian ace, but it’s a matter of whether Farke can bring the best out of him at Elland Road.

The West Yorkshire outfit certainly need someone to shoulder the goalscoring burden alongside Calvert-Lewin in the upcoming campaign and Openda may be a tempting option in the summer for the LS11 hierarchy.
