Leeds United to face Kofi Amoako premium as 49ers inadvertently inflate transfer fee
Leeds United owners, the 49ers, have proved to be a success so far, with the summer transfer window helping guide the Whites to Premier League safety.
While not confirmed yet, the Elland Road side simply needs one win, or West Ham to lose one game, to confirm their status in the top flight.
This summer, the owners will be looking to improve with Kofi Amoako now emerging as a target for Daniel Farke’s side.
The 20-year-old is currently plying his trade for 2. Bundesliga side Dynamo Dresden.
However, Leeds’ transfer business could have been conducted at a lower fee if it were not for the 49ers’ business at Rangers in the winter.

How the 49ers may have inadvertently increased Kofi Amoako’s price tag
Paraag Marathe is no longer working at both Rangers and Leeds, but the Whites chairman was at the Bears during the winter transfer window.
Over at Ibrox, the Glasgow club purchased Ryan Naderi from third-tier side Hansa Rostock for £4.7million and now the 49ers’ business for that move could have a knock-on effect for Leeds.
| Kofi Amoako at Dynamo Dresden in 2.Bundesliga | Total |
| Duel success | 55% |
| Key passes per game | 0.7 |
| Pass accuracy | 83% |
| Balls recovered per game | 2.7 |
According to Bild, Leeds have emerged as a target for midfielder Amoako, who was previously valued at £1.7m.
However, with Leeds in the mix, the second-tier German said they are looking for double that price tag.
Additionally, the aforementioned Naderi to Rangers move is also cited as a reason for an inflated fee, as “very different figures are at play in the UK”.
So while Leeds may be looking to sign Amoako, their ownership may be the reason behind spending more than they could have.
Multi-club ownership certainly has its perks, but on this occasion it may have backfired.

Leeds eyeing midfield revamp this summer
If transfer reports are any indicator of where Leeds are looking to strengthen this season, then it appears the centre of the pitch is the priority.
The Whites have been linked to numerous central midfielders, with Amoako just the latest to emerge.
Leeds are eyeing Hidemasa Morita, who has committed to Elland Road should Premier League survival be confirmed for the LS11 outfit.
Additionally, Wolves’ Andre has also been touted as a potential target in the summer according to information emerging from Brazil.
Overall, Farke looks to be equipping the Whites with a completely new engine room, and it remains to be seen if it is just one that arrives or multiple.
