Leeds United approach agents as Mauro Junior release clause emerges

Leeds United look to be lining up a move for PSV Eindhoven star Mauro Junior.

Daniel Farke is keen to bolster his squad in the summer transfer window, and the 27-year-old left-back would provide cover.

A report from Voetbal International on 28 May claims that the Dutch club are trying to remove the release clause from the Brazilian star’s contract.

It states that the clause would allow him to leave the Eredivisie side for a “limited transfer fee”, and they want to upgrade his deal to get rid of it.

Leeds are set for a busy summer, and if they can complete a deal for Junior, it would be a great start to the window.

Junior’s career stats so far.

The former Brazil Under-23 international has managed to notch 22 goals and 46 assists in a total of 261 appearances in Dutch football.

If he could add some extra goals and assists to the Whites’ team, it would be a solid signing for Farke’s side, and would at the very least, release the pressure of Gudmundsson to play week in, week out.

It remains to be seen whether the Peacocks activate the release clause, or his current club can work out a new deal with the defender that keeps him in Eindhoven.
