Wilfried Gnonto could potentially have a pivotal role to play as Leeds United face Manchester United in the Premier League on Monday.

The Whites will travel to Old Trafford on 13 April without Anton Stach and Joe Rodon, and Daniel Farke expects them to be out for a few weeks.

Daniel James is another player who won’t be available for the trip down to M16 as the West Yorkshire outfit look to get points off one of their fiercest English rivals.

Jaka Bijol, Gabriel Gudmundsson and Noah Okafor are also doubts for the fixture, leaving the German manager with a dilemma regarding his team selection.

Gnonto’s future at Elland Road seems uncertain after struggling for game time in LS11 this season, but the winger may be able to play a key role in the upcoming matches.

While Farke has preferred a 3-4-2-1 formation at Leeds in recent weeks, he may have to make a slight tweak to his starting lineup at Old Trafford.

Gnonto has started just four Premier League games this season, but may be in contention to play a key role against Man United due to the multiple fitness issues at Elland Road.

Farke has promised not to park the bus in Manchester, and it wouldn’t be surprising to see the Whites line up in a 4-3-3 formation, with the Italian youngster playing on the left.

The 22-year-old has looked threatening on the wings in the last few matches, creating a few dangerous situations in the final third.

Having provided one assist, creating one big chance in 16 league matches in the current campaign, Gnonto may have a chance to redefine his future at Elland Road.

Daniel Farke starting lineup picks itself after injury crisis at Elland Road

Sebastiaan Bornauw will hope to play alongside Pascal Struijk, with Jayden Bogle and James Justin as the full-backs against the Red Devils.

In the middle of the park, Ethan Ampadu, Ilia Gruev and Ao Tanaka have the ability to shut down Man United’s midfield from creating chances.

Brenden Aaronson can play off the right with Dominic Calvert-Lewin down the middle, giving Farke an obvious team selection for the fixture.

The German manager has shown some impressive in-game management this season and it will be interesting to see how he copes with Michael Carrick’s team on Monday.
