Many fans have dreamed about an Elland Road return regarding Bielsa, and if things were to change this summer, the 49ers could look at hiring him once again.

What has Marcelo Bielsa said about Uruguay exit?
Bielsa was linked with the Leeds job through the winter period of this season when there were claims that Farke was on his last chance at Elland Road.
Fast forward a couple of months, and the German head coach has fans pleading for him to stay, but that doesn’t look like a certainty after his recent remarks before the Brighton game.
| Stats | Marcelo Bielsa | Daniel Farke |
| Win percentage | 48% | 52% |
| Points per game | 1.6 | 1.8 |
| Time in charge | Jun 2018 – Feb 2022 | Jul 2023 – Now |
Bielsa has hinted at leaving Uruguay after the World Cup finishes, with local reports also stating that it will be his second major tournament with the nation, and his final one ahead of his resignation.
The former Leeds boss said: “Our job ends with the World Cup. It is a miracle in any professional’s sporting career to take part in the World Cup.
“I will be forever grateful to Uruguay for allowing me to enjoy a competition like the World Cup.”

Uruguay finished third in the 2024 Copa America, but the nation’s directors saw the 70-year-old as the man to lead them at this year’s World Cup.
As mentioned, reports claim that this will be Bielsa’s final act as Uruguay boss, which means if Farke were to leave, an Elland Road homecoming will be possible.
Leeds board member has admitted strategic issue amid Farke comments
The problem with Leeds’ survival now is that it’s almost as if the 49ers need to prove themselves to Farke.
Not only does the Former Norwich boss want new signings, but he wants fresh objectives and goals to aim for in LS11.
Leeds board member Peter Lowy has admitted that the club needs to sit down with Farke, stating that his comments were about “the strategic issue of the long-term plan”.

If that isn’t resolved in discussions, then Farke himself will know that he could find a new job this summer, given the success of the Whites this term.
The stars could be aligning for Bielsa to return, but is that what Leeds fans truly want anymore?
