Leeds United: Jayden Bogle robbed of MOTM award vs Man United after stunning performance

Leeds United star Jayden Bogle could have been given the Man of the Match award against Manchester United.

The right-wing back was an unsung hero in the Whites’ 2-1 win at Old Trafford, and his performance deserves talking about.

Daniel Farke has shown great trust in Bogle this season, as the former Sheffield United star has started to show his Premier League experience and quality in recent weeks.

The Englishman could have had several assists from the win, and had that been the case, he would have been crowned as Man of the Match.

Bogle was everywhere against Man United, but he may have Dominic Calvert-Lewin to blame for his missed moment of individual glory.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin is to blame for Jayden Bogle MOTM snub

Calvert-Lewin missed multiple big chances against the Red Devils, as the Whites could have run back to Elland Road with an even bigger win over their rivals.

The striker has been out of form recently, but thankfully for Farke, Noah Okafor stepped up to deliver and instead grabbed the Man of the Match award.

Calvert-Lewin vs Man United

Calvert-Lewin missed three big chances against Man United and managed to rack up an expected goal tally of 1.32.

The 29-year-old is now without a Premier League goal in six games, but Bogle did everything he could to break his teammate’s poor form.

Bogle created three chances, two of which were big opportunities, which Calvert-Lewin failed to convert.

Not to mention that the wing-back also won five ground duels, and had an expected assist count of 0.89, while boasting an 83 per cent pass accuracy.

Does Calvert-Lewin need a break from the starting lineup?

Calvert-Lewin scored from the spot in Leeds’ FA Cup quarter-final win against West Ham, and should have got himself at least one goal from the chances that fell to him at Old Trafford.

Lukas Nmecha has been a decent option for Farke this season, as the German head coach may look to rotate his starting number nine for the remaining league matches.

Calvert-Lewin still played a big role for Okafor’s first goal, but having a confident centre-forward may be the difference that helps the Whites over the line.

Despite being on double digits this campaign, the former Everton star needs to find his touch in front of goal again, or he risks his starting spot with Leeds next season, if they do manage to stay up.
