Lee Hendrie in awe of Dominic Calvert-Lewin’s ‘outstanding’ backheel for Leeds United goal vs Burnley
Lee Hendrie was blown away by Dominic Calvert-Lewin‘s backheel for Leeds United‘s second goal in the win against Burnley.
The Whites beat Burnley 3-1 at Elland Road this Friday, with goals from Anton Stach, Noah Okafor, and Calvert-Lewin wrapping up the three points.
Daniel Farke made three changes to the side that lost to Chelsea in the FA Cup semi-final last weekend, and it paid off.
Leeds are now nine points clear of the final Premier League relegation spot, which is currently occupied by Tottenham, and Calvert-Lewin is largely to thank for that.
Calvert-Lewin slipped Jayden Bogle in for a crossing opportunity before the full-back put the ball on a plate for Okafor to score, but Hendrie was full of praise for the Leeds number nine.

Lee Hendrie almost gives Dominic Calvert-Lewin the POTM
Calvert-Lewin has been a revelation of a signing for Leeds, and once again proved that he can lead the line with his display against Burnley.
The 28-year-old has various qualities to his game, but build-up play might be slowly improving under Farke’s management.

Leeds’ second goal against the Clarets was arguably the biggest of the contest, and it all came through Calvert-Lewin’s great hold-up play.
While commentating live on Sky Sports, Hendrie was quick to praise the forward for his part in Okafor’s eighth league goal of the season.
Hendrie said: “This is outstanding, the press here. He’s got no one around him. It’s delightful, the backheel, the vision, the awareness, and then the pick out by Bogle.
“For me, it’s all about Calvert-Lewin; he waits for the support, he knows it’s coming. It’s an absolutely brilliant backheel.”

Hendrie sounded hurt to give Stach the Player of the Match award, and said he would’ve given it to Calvert-Lewin if he could have.
Regardless, the Englishman is now on 12 Premier League goals for the season, and remarkably, may not be at his peak yet, as seen with an expected goals tally of 15.3.
What did Calvert-Lewin say after the win?
Stach and Calvert-Lewin in particular are surely in the running for best pound-for-pound signings of the season, but from a Leeds perspective, it would be so hard to say who’s been a better arrival.
Farke will be grateful for both men, and Calvert-Lewin has probably surprised people with his fitness this term, let alone his goal-scoring ability on display.
Speaking to former Leeds star Stuart Dallas after the game, the number nine spoke about his involvement in Okafor’s goal.
Calvert-Lewin said: “I think when you play the system that we do, it’s so important that the full-backs stretch the pitch. Like you see with Jayden [Bogle] there, bombing on and putting it in for Noah [Okafor], and a great finish.
“I could hear him shouting my name, and it came off.”
Leeds take on Spurs next, and the Lilywhites will fear facing a man like Calvert-Lewin, who is in red-hot form.
