Ethan Ampadu gestures to Tyler Adams after late VAR check goes in Leeds favour vs Bournemouth
Ethan Ampadu may have gotten the last laugh against former Leeds United star Tyler Adams after a late VAR check confirmed the Whites’ equaliser against Bournemouth.
Sean Longstaff smashed in a last-minute leveller to ensure the Whites picked up a point on their travels this Wednesday.
The draw feels like a big moment for Leeds, as Premier League survival is within touching distance now.
Daniel Farke was very animated throughout the game, and despite looking like they were trailing 3-1 late on, two VAR checks went in favour of the German head coach’s side.
Ampadu played a big part for Leeds, and supporters may love the Welshman even more after he was spotted poking fun at Adams.

Ethan Ampadu grins at Tyler Adams after VAR check
Leeds had some top performers against Bournemouth, with Ampadu once more being on his A game.
The midfielder never stopped running throughout the game, and is a main reason as to why the Whites can achieve their main goal of staying in the Premier League.

Adams came off the bench to haunt Leeds when he grabbed the assist for Rayan’s goal, which at the time, looked like a winner for the Cherries.
However, everyone from a Leeds perspective held their breath as Longstaff’s goal had a VAR check for offside with Joel Piroe interfering with Bournemouth’s goalkeepers’ line of sight.
The goal was given, though, and as highlighted by Graham Smyth on X, Ampadu poked some fun at former Elland Road man Adams.

A fitting end to what was a very entertaining game of football, as Farke admitted he was confident of survival after the match.
How did Adams react
Leeds fans will all agree that Ampadu is twice the player that Adams ever was for the Whites.
That’s why they will all be happy to see that the American clearly wasn’t happy with the officials after the VAR calls went the way of his former employers.
As highlighted by Smyth once more, the ex-Leeds man was seen winging to Michael Salisbury, who was in no mood to talk.
The Whites may feel like they got a little lucky with some of the calls throughout the game, but they won’t care, as it’s another point towards Premier League survival.
Leeds and Ampadu will come away from this game very happy.
