Dominic Calvert-Lewin singled out on Match of the Day as everything goes right for Leeds United vs Wolves
Dominic Calvert-Lewin was finally back on the scoresheet for Leeds United in the Premier League after a run of just one goal in 11 games.
The Englishman was given the chance to end his drought when the Whites were handed a late penalty to make it 3-0 against Wolves.
Unlike against Crystal Palace, Calvert-Lewin made no mistake from the 12-yard spot, and the win has surely cemented Daniel Farke’s side in the Premier League ahead of next season.
The LS11 outfit is now on 39 points, moving eight above the drop zone, with the German praised for his turnaround at Elland Road.
And Calvert-Lewin has been singled out for his role in the Peacocks’ rise as Match of the Day analysed Leeds’ win versus Wolves.

What was said about Dominic Calvert-Lewin on Match of the Day?
When Leeds took on Manchester City at the end of November, there was a noticeable shift in the intent of Farke’s side.
The style of play looked different, and Whites looked like they could cause any side an issue. Since then, that has largely been the case as the Elland Road outfit has pushed closely to safety.

However, Joe Hart has singled out Calvert-Lewin for that rise, picking out his 11 goals for the Whites this season as reason for the turnaround since the strong performance at the Etihad.
His goal against Wolves highlighted everything that went right for the LS11 outfit.
Hart said via MOTD: “They’ve been excellent. Even when they were losing before that game, [Man City in November] I didn’t mind them. Like Ash talked about, they’ve got a good spine.
“They were working for each other and making Elland Road really difficult. But from that moment on — and I think it coincided with Calvert-Lewin scoring — their confidence has just grown and grown.
They could have a really great season.”

After Leeds’ 3-0 win against Wolves, Fakre’s side will now look to secure another victory against Bournemouth on 22 April, with a win putting them on 42 points.
This would surely confirm their Premier League status for next season.
Focus will then turn to the FA Cup, where the Whites could truly make this a special campaign.
Calvert-Lewin’s goal comes at the perfect time for Leeds
Having your star striker on a drought in front of goal is not ideal, but Calvert-Lewin popping up with a goal before their FA Cup semi-final will be pleasing for Farke.
While it was a penalty, it will still get any confidence issues out of the English striker’s mind, and against Chelsea, they will need to be at their best.
The form of both sides could not be more different, with the Elland Road side unbeaten in their last four Premier League games and the Blues losing their previous four.
Farke has also not lost to Chelsea this season, adding to the growing confidence building among the Peacocks’ camp.
