Daniel Farke wants to revert to his plan A at Leeds United, but that’s not good news
Daniel Farke‘s press conference before Leeds United‘s game against Brighton this Sunday was revealing of many things.
The German head coach suggested that he may not be the man to take the Whites forward if his vision isn’t aligned with the 49ers.
Farke had to change his playstyle halfway through the season to keep his job, but it’s ultimately a move that secured Leeds’ place in the Premier League.
Regardless of whether it suits the players or not, the former Norwich City boss wants to play football out from the back, and for his side to be possession-based and on the front foot.
However, Farke feels like he’s owed something extra from the 49ers, and may actually believe he deserves more than Leeds, if discussions don’t go his way this summer.

Daniel Farke thinks the ball is in his court now, and it is
There have been suggestions that Leeds will offer Farke a new deal, but the German head coach won’t hold his breath after facing two near dismissals inside 12 months.
He will sit down with Paraag Marathe and Co. very shortly to discuss his future, and as he’s now explained, will leave if everyone is on the same page.

Farke has suggested that he wants to be backed with more players this summer, and quality that fits with plan A of his playstyle at Elland Road.
The 49-year-old has since seen former Championship managers like Michael Carrick and Enzo Maresca allowed to play with big budgets in the Premier League, which may leave a sour taste in his mouth, given the path he’s had to walk down.

Even if the 49ers hand Farke what he wants, there is zero evidence that suggests his plan A works in the Premier League, as he nearly contributed to a third Premier League relegation, including his time with Norwich.
Several Premier League-ready players would require a budget of around £100million once more this summer, and that’s a budget that the 49ers won’t have to supply Farke with what it sounds like he wants.
Farke has found his perfect system and club, he just doesn’t know it
The reality is that Farke can walk away from his Elland Road duties if he wants to, as the words coming from his mouth recently are not convincing.
He clearly feels like he needs to be rewarded in some sense, and given that he was close to losing his job before, he may not want to harm his own reputation by staying another year.
Farke has most likely done enough to earn himself a move to another European side, and would not be short of clubs interested in his services, if he were to depart LS11.
However, the fans have chosen their side, and if he leaves purely down to backing over his system, that would be a painfully wrong decision for all parties.
