Leeds United team news vs West Ham: Daniel Farke shares positive injury update on Pascal Struijk and Jayden Bogle

Leeds United could have Pascal Struijk and Jayden Bogle available for the final Premier League game of the season against West Ham United on Sunday.

London Stadium will host the Whites on 24 May in what’s a do-or-die game for the Hammers, and the two defenders are back in training at Thorp Arch.

Daniel Farke has confirmed that Ilia Gruev, Gabriel Gudmundsson and Noah Okafor are still out for the Whites, while Sean Longstaff has also been sidelined after a hernia operation.

There is also a slightly positive update on Anton Stach, whose injury isn’t as serious as initially feared.

Farke wants to continue his Premier League unbeaten streak in East London and it will be interesting to see who the German manager goes with in E20.

Daniel Farke can still play part in huge Premier League implications

Speaking in his pre-match press conference, Farke said, “I can confirm that Gruev is still out. Gudmundsson is still out. Okafor is still out. We have, thank god, Struijk back in training. So let’s see how his body reacts. So hopefully he’s available. Also Bogle back in training. Could be that he’s perhaps available. We have to wait right now to see how his body reacts to this load.

“With Anton, a bit mixed news. Bad news that he’s not available for this game. Good news is that it’s not a major injury. If the game would be next Wednesday or Thursday, he would be available. Longstaff is out. He had a hernia surgery. Also not available. Bit tricky still.”

West Ham need a win at home against Leeds to have any chance of surviving the drop.

Farke surely won’t make things easy for Nuno Espirito Santo, with the German manager having his own ambitions at the Whites.

Bottom seven in Premier League table

The West Yorkshire outfit still have a part to play in the relegation battle and can send the East London club down to the Championship.

Even if West Ham managed to get three points against the Peacocks, they will need to pray for a Tottenham Hotspur loss in North London against Everton.

Leeds United have financial reason for win vs West Ham United

If Leeds beat West Ham at the London Stadium, they could potentially finish the season in 12th place, which comes with its own rewards.

The Whites will be multiplying their end-of-season Premier League prize money if they can climb further up the table on the final day.

While the West Yorkshire outfit have already secured safety in the English top flight, the players will want to put in an encouraging display to give Farke something to think about going into next season.

There will also be plenty of players leaving in the summer who could potentially feature in East London and increase interest in them with a good performance.
