Leeds United are not messing around with Elland Road works after latest Pete Lowy comments
Leeds United are wasting no time with the Elland Road redevelopment.
After Sunday’s 1-0 win over Brighton, supporters said goodbye to their home ground as they know it, with work now set to begin in West Yorkshire.
It has been a season to remember for the Whites, who have secured a second successive campaign in the Premier League.
Daniel Farke’s side are in impressive form on the pitch, with a relentless run since the international break securing their top-flight status.
Off the pitch, meanwhile, the groundwork is being laid to ensure Leeds can continue to grow at the highest level.

Pete Lowy outllines ambition for Leeds development
As part of the developments set to take place at Elland Road, the Whites are determined to ensure that the city itself sees the same effort put in.
With the idea put forward for transport services between the iconic stadium and other parts of Leeds, director Pete Lowy provided an update.
“The key to investment in Leeds is the redevelopment of the stadium,” said Lowy, speaking at UKReiif.
“This is the anchor to developing the land around which hasn’t seen investment in 40 years. We need light rail/tram.”
He would add: “If you get the light rail/tram from the city centre to Elland Road and White Rose, we will have a million riders a year straight off the bat because of the 19 home games guaranteed.
“We have full governmental support. We are going to deliver that tram. We’ll make it happen,” concluded Lowy.
With the Whites flying on the pitch, this Premier League opportunity mustn’t be squandered, as it was in 2023, with it imperative now that the building continues, both on and off the pitch.
Leeds have fantastic potential as a Premier League club
For years, Leeds have been sleeping and missed out on the chance to solidify themselves as they were relegated in 2023.
Since then, excellent work has been done on and off the pitch to secure the long-term future, including by Farke and his staff in not just winning promotion, but securing safety so comfortably.
With an immense fanbase, iconic and ever-growing stadium, and huge stature in English football, the Whites are a club looking to aim much higher than simply surviving in the top flight.

With another Premier League season approaching, the ambition for the squad on the pitch must match the work being put in away from the footballing side.
Should Leeds continue to progress in the division, there could be a time when the new-look Elland Road is on show for the nation to see – backed by an ambitious project.
The West Yorkshire outfit let their last opportunity slip this decade, and they must ensure that this doesn’t happen again.
But for now, it seems that they are not happy to simply sit around, as the development continues for both the football club and the city of Leeds as a whole.
