Brenden Aaronson was worried about Leeds United teammate Gabriel Gudmundsson's injury.

During pre-season, the left-back picked up a minor knock and didn't feature in the first two Premier League games.

The Sweden international clearly looked in pain after suffering an injury during the friendly with Liverpool.

There were concerns around Gudmundsson after the win in the USA over Andoni Iralola's team.

The West Yorkshire outfit subsequently bolstered the left-back position by signing Melvin Bard from OGC Nice.

For a brief moment, those who know the Swedish defender were concerned due to misinformation about his injury.

Aaronson hobbled off against Liverpool in America due to a hamstring issue.

However, rumours elsewhere suggested the left-back's injury was more serious than reported.

Aaronson then frantically called the defender about his situation as he was tipped to be out for seven to eight months.

Thankfully for the West Yorkshire outfit, those suggestions weren't true, and the left-back has played a key role for Daniel Farke in the last three league matches.

Speaking to Fotbollskanalen on 27 September, Gudmundsson said, "Brenden Aaronson called me in the afternoon and was like, 'What the hell is going on?' I said, 'What do you mean?' He said, 'The knee.'

"He linked to someone on social media writing that it was the knee, seven to eight months. I don't know, sometimes you shouldn't trust too much what is written. It is what it is, it wasn't true."

Why Daniel Farke won't have Gabriel Gudmundsson concerns at Elland Road

Gudmundsson has been a brilliant signing for Leeds and was instrumental in helping them avoid relegation last season.

There wasn't adequate cover for the Sweden international in the previous campaign, with James Justin often deputising at left-back and Sam Byram hardly seeing any minutes.

Going into the summer, Farke wanted to see the West Yorkshire outfit show ambition, and they've done that by signing some quality superstars.

Towards the end of the transfer window, the Peacocks also added some much-needed depth at left-back with Bard.

The French defender has already shown he can keep his own and do a decent job for Farke in Gudmundsson's absence.

Even if the Swedish ace picks up a knock, there's adequate cover for him in LS11 now.
