Daniel Farke reveals Dan James 'question mark' in Leeds United injury latest vs Chelsea
Daniel Farke has revealed an issue for Dan James before Leeds United travel to face Chelsea on Wednesday.
The Whites are set for their second break from Premier League action in the Carabao Cup.
A 2-0 win over Nottingham Forest in the second round booked a place away at Stamford Bridge.
Things certainly won't be easy against Xabi Alonso's side after their positive start to the campaign.
The LS11 outfit will need everything to go in their favour if they are to get through to the next stage of the cup.
It seems as though Leeds are facing a problem in the shape of James ahead of the clash with Chelsea.
What has Daniel Farke said about Dan James vs Chelsea?
The 28-year-old has had his fair share of injury problems over the past few years.
He has missed 17 games for the Whites since the start of 2025, having also missed 10 in 2024.
That hasn't helped him pick up any true form at Elland Road as others have moved well ahead of him in the pecking order.
The Wales international could be facing the same problem at the start of the new season.
Farke has revealed that James noticed an issue away to Brighton and his place in the squad against Chelsea remains up in the air.
Speaking in his press conference on Tuesday, he said: "Little question mark on Dan James, he reported during the warm up at Brighton some issues with his back and hamstring. If he comes through the next two sessions, he'll be available."
What other injury issues are Leeds dealing with?
It will be a blow to be without the winger in a clash that may have featured some rotation from Farke.
He revealed in his press conference that he wants to win the Carabao Cup this season, so it will be interesting to see what team he puts out in West London.
It looks as if he'll nearly have his full complement available, with injury issues only surrounding Joe Rodon and James.
Summing that up, the German said: "No [fresh issues]. Joe Rodon, obviously, long-term injury out."
That will hopefully act as a boost and give Leeds the confidence they need to go and push forward in the cup with the ambition to lift it this season.
