Leeds United have one of the most passionate fan bases in the Premier League.

And that is quite clear in each and every home game at Elland Road.

The LS11 outfit is quite frequently heard with a raucous home crowd, and those who follow the Yorkshire side are always looking to be part of that.

However, with Leeds being one of the biggest clubs in England, there are plenty of fans who do not get to regularly experience the joys of Elland Road.

With the popularity of football and the English top flight only continuing to soar, tickets are becoming less commonplace.

And Leeds' latest announcement is a kick in the teeth to those who are trying to support their team in person.

Leeds' ticket process needs a rethink after latest social post

There is nothing inherently wrong with Leeds attempting to capitalise on their popularity, but supporters deserve something worthwhile in return for their money.

And with their latest social post, the LS11 outfit continues to fail to deliver on that.

On the evening of 22 October, the Whites' official X account posted an advert to push for more 2026-27 membership sales.

Despite the season already being underway, the benefits listed include the chance to get tickets for fixtures this season.

However, Leeds already have plenty of sign-ups that registered before the campaign even began.

Getting tickets for many is already a struggle, and pushing to add even more to the pool of possible matchgoers is a kick in the teeth to those who registered way in advance of the first ball being kicked this campaign.

The membership fee is set at £51.50 for an adult and £31.50 for under-16s at the lowest price point for ticket access.

The higher tier offers priority to the ticket exchange at a price of £76.50 and £46.50 respectively.

And even at those costs, that does not guarantee a Leeds member a ticket this season.

Instead, supporters are being asked to pay for a chance of obtaining a seat at Elland Road, rather than an actual place in the ground.

As membership numbers continue to rise without an increase in ticket availability, that supposed benefit becomes more diluted.

Leeds United have an easy solution to fan concerns

Leeds can simply solve the concerns of supporters with one change to their system.

Once the season begins, the Whites should suspend the ability to purchase a membership for the corresponding campaign.

It means that the negative impact on those seeking tickets will be reduced, with the pool of interested parties surely seeing a decrease in numbers.

While the Yorkshire side may say keeping them open allows for more money to come in to sign players such as James Trafford, supporters are the heart of Leeds and are being mistreated.
