Leeds United are continuing to grow both on and off the pitch.

Daniel Farke's side have made a very encouraging start to the 2026-27 Premier League season.

Seven games in and the Whites have only tasted defeat once, and bagged a solid point against Manchester United last time out in a 1-1 draw.

As a result of the progress being made on the Elland Road turf, the club appears to be in its healthiest position off it in a very long time as well.

Because of this, Leeds are a team that so many people involved in football would surely love to come and work for.

One of those people has finally had their long-announced arrival in LS11 confirmed this week too.

What boardroom move have Leeds filed on Companies House this week?

March of this year feels like a long time ago at Leeds, as even since then, considerable progress has been made.

At that time, Farke's side were scrapping away to put as many points on the board to make sure of their Premier League safety.

It was also on the 27th of that month when Leeds announced that Andreas Dracopoulos had joined the board of directors at Elland Road.

He joined after making a personal investment in Leeds, but up until recently, his appointment hadn't been officially registered.

That's now been sorted, as Leeds have finally filed the relevant paperwork on Companies House confirming his appointment.

But who is Dracopoulos, and why was this appointment far from his first involvement with Leeds?

When did Dracopoulos first get involved with Leeds?

Despite being born and raised in Athens, Greece, Dracopoulos has supported Leeds for a very long time.

It was 50 years ago when he got his first official Leeds membership, and has been following the Whites for most of his life.

He is also the co-chairman of the Stavros Niarchos Foundation, a private international philanthropic organisation.

Detailed via an earlier report from The Athletic, Dracopoulos was revealed to be a sizeable investor in Leeds for the first time publicly in January 2001.

This was because his stake in the club had amassed to three per cent, meaning his involvement then needed to be disclosed to the public.

His stake soon rose to over four per cent, before later reducing it to two per cent in 2003, and since then, his name hadn't been linked to Leeds.

That's all changed now following his new role with the club, as the Greek is evidently still very passionate about helping Leeds achieve their goals on and off the pitch.
