Leeds United chairman Paraag Marathe was the first high-profile figure at a Premier League club to speak out on the Manchester City charges this week.

City were last week found guilty of 114 rules breaches between the 2009-10 and 2017-18 seasons.

The eight-time Premier League champions have already lodged an appeal against the widespread charges.

Should the charges be upheld, the big question will then be exactly what City's punishment will be.

Prior to managers speaking at pre-match press conferences, there had been radio silence from many other clubs.

However, Marathe went against the grain as he became the first to speak out.

What did Paraag Marathe say about Man City charges?

As reported by Martin Lipton for Friday's print edition of The Sun, "Marathe broke the Prem's self-imposed silence on Manchester City".

Marathe did not say much, in truth, other than "the most just result will emerge".

The American said it was a case of letting the appeal play out and then seeing what the outcome is.

Daniel Farke has since been asked for his thoughts on the hottest topic in the sport right now.

But the German, perhaps understandably, did not want to get too involved.

"It's not my topic. There are more qualified people to speak about this. It's not up to me," he told reporters on Thursday.

"It makes no sense if everyone in the world wants to have an opinion on this topic.

"There are more qualified people to discuss this. We have more things to worry about."

Marathe also discusses possible controversial Leeds change

Marathe discussed a number of other topics in the chat with City AM.

That includes the contentious topic of dynamic pricing, which is being used for a number of entertainment and sporting events.

It effectively sees prices rise in line with demand. Thankfully, it has not taken over football. Yet.

Marathe suggested he would be open to it at Elland Road, which will not go down well with fans.

"There’s probably an opportunity to do it in a way that does increase revenue, but also makes it affordable for your most hardcore fans," he said.

Marathe has done a great job in his position as chairman, but he cannot afford to make a misstep by squeezing more money out of fans.
