Wilfried Gnonto looks to quit Leeds United after Javi Gracia decision - Sky Sports pundit

We’re delighted to welcome former England goalkeeper Paul Robinson as our exclusive columnist as each week he’ll be giving his views on the biggest talking points at Leeds United

Paul Robinson has suggested Willy Gnonto could look to quit Leeds United after seeing reduced gametime under Javi Gracia.

The 19-year-old was visibly frustrated after being substituted during the 4-2 win over Wolves having previously been benched for the fixtures against Chelsea and Brighton.

Robinson has claimed the Italian could look to move on if he remains a bit-part player from now until the end of the 2022/23 season.

“It’s hard to understand why he’s not deemed good enough to start for Leeds or why he’s taken off after an hour,” Robinson told MOT Leeds News.

“If I was him and I remained a bit part player and Javi Gracia stayed next season I would be looking to get out as well.”

The attacker could be set to miss this weekend’s fixture against Arsenal (1 April) after he sustained an ankle injury whilst on international duty.

Injury expert, Ben Dinnery, currently rates his chances of playing at The Emirates at “50 per cent”, with Tuesday’s fixture against Nottingham Forest being the more likely game for Gnonto to return (4 April).

In other Leeds United news, the club are ready to offer a new contract to one first-team star whose deal is up in 2024.
