'Apart from Leeds...' - Lee Bowyer makes bold claim over duo in C'Ship verdict

Charlton boss Lee Bowyer has claimed that Leeds United and Brentford are the two best teams in the Championship this season.

The former Whites midfielder admitted that Leeds standout along with the Bees, despite both sides having fallen to defeats at the Valley this season.

Bowyer didn’t mention the current leaders in the division, West Brom, who currently sit four points clear of Marcelo Bielsa’s men.

Bowyer claims that Brentford and Leeds cause opposing teams the most problems with their passing and movement when on the ball – something that hasn’t been highlighted in the goals scored category, the Whites sitting fifth.

“I don’t think there’s much in it with any teams we’ve played,” he told the News Shopper.

“Apart from Leeds United and Brentford, they stand out. Their pass and movement, they cause the most problems, but everyone else, there’s not much in it at all.”

At this moment in time, West Brom surely have to take the claim of being one of the best sides in the division given their form. Leeds are also in that bracket, with the current top-two in the league the only two sides in great form.

Prediction expert, Nate Silver, has shared on his website, FiveThirtyEight that both Leeds and West Brom currently have an 85% or higher chance of earning promotion to the Premier League – Brentford? Their chances are only rated at 52% at this moment.
