'Stupid not to' - Former Leeds player left concerned by early teams news v Bristol City

Former Whites midfielder Andy Couzens has claimed that Leeds United goalkeeper Kiko Casilla will be under immense pressure against Bristol City on Saturday.

Marcelo Bielsa has already confirmed that the Spaniard will keep his spot for the game despite yet another error cost the Leeds all three points against Brentford on Tuesday.

Couzens has claimed that any fan would be stupid not to feel concerned about the early team news for the clash with the Robins.

“You’d be stupid not to (be concerned),” he told Football League World.

“There’s been mistakes from Christmas time; Birmingham, Sheffield Wednesday where he’s beaten at the near post, he was beaten at the near post against Forest.

“Then, what happened at Brentford, you’ve got to be looking at that side of it and think the young kid (Meslier) must be pushing him now a little bit.”

Nearly every Leeds fan has been calling for Illan Meslier to replace Casilla after his breakout performance against Arsenal in the FA Cup more than a month ago.

The change may become a forced one sooner rather than later, with Phil Hay revealing that Casilla is likely to pick up a ban in his FA hearing over the racism charge. That is because of Jonathan Leko having a witness in teammate Macauley Bonne to confirm his claims.

Couzens may not have to worry for too long, with the matter soon likely to be taken out of Bielsa’s hands at Elland Road.
