Phil Hay shares if Dan James will start for Leeds v Liverpool
Phil Hay has insisted that new Leeds United signing Daniel James is likely to start on the bench against Liverpool.
The Welshman arrived for £25million+ on deadline day, finally ending the two-year transfer saga between all parties.
With Liverpool up next in the Premier League, all eyes will be on James as the Whites look for their first win of the season.
Speaking on the Phil Hay Podcast on Friday morning, the journalist shared if there are chances of a big debut at Elland Road.
"He was someone that Bielsa was mad keen on," he said.
"I hope for his sake it is a better environment here, I hope for Leeds' sake as well. I think he will have an arm put around him in a metaphorical sense.
"He will get games. He probably starts on the bench behind Raphinha and Jack Harrison."
Sensible.
Depending on any late problems, James will surely be on the bench and ready to make an impact late in the game.
Should Raphinha and Harrison not pick up any injury issues, they will be bound to start against the Reds.
Having a major signing such as James on the bench instantly improves our options and makes the Whites a much more dangerous proposition.
The Welshman has gone away with Wales after sealing his move to Elland Road, and will once again join up with Tyler Roberts.
It looks as though those two will be our main attacking options off the bench for the foreseeable future, and we don't have any major complaints about that.
