'Could actually help' - Prutton makes QPR claim ahead of Leeds clash
Leeds welcome Queens Park Rangers to Elland Road on Saturday, needing nothing less than a win in West Yorkshire.
Two draws on the bounce have seen the Whites drop out of the automatic promotion spots. Marcelo Bielsa will know his side need a win against the London side.
It won’t be straightforward though. Mark Warburton’s team may come into the game on the back of a defeat, but they still sit two points behind Leeds.
QPR will be wanting to bounce back, and Leeds will need to be on the top of our game to dominate possession, and take advantage of their chances.
David Prutton has fired a warning to his former side on Saturday, claiming that it could suit the visitors as they will see it as a free hit at Elland Road.
“Leeds will go into these next two games as favourites for obvious reasons but QPR don’t see themselves as cannon fodder for the teams at the top so they will need to be wary,” he wrote in his Yorkshire Evening Post column.
“It could actually help Mark Warburton’s side because, like we’ve seen from so many other teams already, it is almost a free hit with the pressure well and truly off at Elland Road.”
Should QPR turn up as they did against Brentford on Monday evening, Leeds should easily sweep aside the Londoners.
With Patrick Bamford a doubt for the game, Eddie Nketiah could finally get his chance and his pace could be vital to stretch the back four of Warburton’s side.
Ollie Watkins caused major problems in Brentford’s 3-1 win, and Nketiah will be looking to do exactly the same should he lead the line.
We are confident that Leeds can prove Prutton wrong and take advantage against QPR.
