‘Stupid’ – What many Fulham fans have said about Cody Drameh exit as Leeds finalise deal

Fulham fans have offered a mixed reaction to the news that Leeds United have snatched young right-back Cody Drameh from Craven Cottage.

Leeds confirmed on their official Twitter account and official website on Thursday that Drameh, 18, has signed a four-year deal at Elland Road after an “undisclosed fee” was agreed with Fulham.

The Daily Mail has previously reported that Leeds are paying an initial £400,000 for the England Under-18 international with the deal potential rising up to £1million.

It is hard to say how good Drameh is because he never made a first-team appearance at Fulham.

However, the 18-year-old has been likened to Liverpool right-back Trent Alexandar-Arnold because of his attack-minded displays from the full-back position.

Another way to gauge how good a new signing is is to take a look at what fans of the selling club have said about the deal.

Most Fulham fans seem gutted that Drameh has left with one calling it a “stupid” decision by the London club – presumably because the teenager is so highly-rated.

However, there are some who aren’t fussed by the news, with one saying “he’s not even all that”.

Here is a selection of their tweets:

It would have been tough for Fulham fans to watch much of Drameh due to him not being in Scott Parker’s plans last season.

However, the right-back did play a lot for the Under-23s, assisting seven goals in 17 Premier League 2 appearances while also playing three times in the Checkatrade Trophy.

It remains to be seen how he will fare at Leeds but we hope that in a few years’ time, Fulham fans will be even more annoyed about selling him to the Yorkshire giants for such a low fee.

In other Leeds United news, Bielsa believes this striker will take the Premier League by storm if Leeds sign him.
