On Thursday afternoon, Marcelo Bielsa delivered what was read as a very strong hint that he will be staying at Leeds United past this season and fans are absolutely delighted.
While there hasn’t been any talk that he might be leaving, Bielsa only signs one-year contracts and it always gives fans a sweat.
Bielsa left it really late last summer before committing to another year at the club.
Plenty of fans are convinced he’s already made his mind up about the 21/22 season.
Talking in his pre-match press conference today, Bielsa said, “To have a complete squad in your first year in the Premier League is very difficult.
“It’s very important to develop some players in the case of Pascal and Shackleton.
“We have to go in a careful manner and try to evolve the group.”
The message was posted up on the official Leeds Twitter page and it’s made a lot of Leeds fans very, very happy.

Bielsa seems to have really got the Leeds bug and we’re convinced he’s here for the long haul.
There’s a plan in place that involves getting Leeds back at the top table and that could take another 2-3 seasons.
There’s no guarantee that Bielsa will stay that long. He’s got family in Argentina and he’s getting on.
But there seems to be a real passion at the club, from him, from Andrea Radrizzani, Victor Orta and obviously from the fans.
Everything just feels right and we would love it if Bielsa does stay until we’re back in Europe and he considers his work is done. Then maybe he can hand over to Brendan Rodgers.
It’s no wonder that these fans are so excited, with some even getting emotional about it.
That’s the Bielsa effect.
