‘I just feel sick’, ‘Horrendous’ – Many Leeds fans rage over ‘Inexcusable’ senior player info

Patrick Bamford has often divided opinion among Leeds United fans but no one can deny that the striker has missed his fair share of opportunities this season.

Stats by WhoScored show that only Said Benrahma [131] and Aleksandar Mitrovic [136] have had more shots at goal than Bamford [125] in the Championship this season

However the Leeds forward has scored just 13 goals in the league and that is simply not good enough for a lot of supporters.

More worrying information has been brought to light about Bamford on social media recently with Twitter account Footy Accumulators sharing a list of Championship players ranked in order of how many clear chances they have missed this season.

It will not shock Leeds fans to see that Bamford is top of the list with 27 squandered opportunities but what is unexpected is that his tally is 10 higher than second-placed Lewis Grabban with 17.

Imagine if Bamford had netted half of those chances – let alone all of them.

Leeds would already have the all-important ‘P’ next to their name in the Championship standings and that is why so many fans are fuming over Bamford and his wasteful attacking play.

Here is a selection of their tweets:

We get that it is frustrating.

Leeds are second in the Championship and would be well clear at the top if their main man up front scored every opportunity that came his way.

Some of it is down to luck and some of it is just down to the fact that he isn’t clinical enough when it matters most but still, Marcelo Bielsa picks Bamford every week.

Leeds create so many chances that Bamford is bound to miss a lot.

We’re not defending him by saying that but it is not fair to pile on the forward for the number of chances he’s missed.

In other Leeds United news, Victor Orta has made his mind up about this player approach.
