On the face of it, a 0-0 against Arsenal isn’t the worst result in the world for Leeds United given the two 4-1 losses that preceded it.
However, Leeds absolutely dominated the game, hit the woodwork umpteen times and thoroughly deserved all three points.
The attack momentum graph from SofaScore shows Arsenal up for the very poor side they were at Elland Road, even before going down to 10 men.
On the face it, it was a much better game for centre-back Robin Koch too, after a spate of conceding a large number of goals, for Leeds and for Germany.
However, a large number of Leeds fans were left cold after a number of misplaced passes in the second half, picked up on by Gary Neville on the Sky Sports commentary.
One fan said he was “horrific” while another said his passing was “absolutely woeful”.
We’re going to respectfully disagree.
We think Koch had a quietly effective game at the back. He might have been guilty of trying to force things on occasion but that was the result of Arsenal going down to 10.
Aside from the few misplaced passes, his decision making was good and he kept Arsenal quiet pretty much all game.
The Gunners did very little to put him off his stride and that’s got to be the thing that we look to before criticising any misplaced forward passes.
Koch wasn’t the reason Leeds didn’t the game. Put that down to the woodwork and a bit of bad luck.
However, plenty of fans took to Twitter to savage him regardless…
Hi Joe, great summing up but didn't agree with your thoughts on Koch. Thought he was wasteful throughout and he still gives me kittens. He's nearly there but still not quite, not for me anyway. #LUFC

Passing was horrific at times but I thought Koch defensively last night was brilliant. Positioning superb and very calm under pressure #lufc

Koch needs to improve on his decision making. Wasted a lot of ball tonight. Hopefully gets better with time. Looking forward to Llorente coming into contention too and making that position more competitive #LUFC

Robin Koch needs to cut out the Hollywood passes. Terrible habit. #lufc

Encouraging performance but ultimately 2 points dropped, can’t tell me Koch is a good enough replacement for Ben White though. #lufc

Did so much right but someone please tell Robin Koch to leave playing the Hollywood passes to others, lots of positives onto the next game #lufc

Koch is garbage #LUFC

Sorry but Koch has been awful today and Coops had his League 1 head on, need that competition in Llorente. Everton will cause damage #lufc

Koch’s passing in the 2nd half was nothing short of Dave the CB on a Sunday Morning #lufc

Koch's passing today…😳😳😫#lufc

Koch may have his attributes but his passing can be absolutely woeful sometimes, in dangerous areas too #lufc
