‘100%’ – Many Leeds fans react as midfielder is linked: ‘Assuming he’s a complete world-beater’

Leeds United fans have been reacting on Twitter after seeing that the club has been linked with Racing Club midfielder Matias Zaracho.

Argentine news outlet Doble Amarilla has reported that the 22-year-old is someone who the Whites will consider a move for if they win promotion to the Premier League.

Zaracho is an attacking midfielder who can play in the centre of the pitch or on either wing. He’s made 22 appearances in all competitions for Racing Club this season, scoring five goals and supplying three assists.

As he’s relatively young, has one cap for Argentina and has a good goal contribution record this season, some Leeds fans are understandably excited by the news.

Marcelo Bielsa does not have any Argentinean players on his books but you would imagine that he would be receptive to adding one or two, if they are a good fit in his system.

One Leeds fans has described Zaracho as having the attributes of both Mateusz Klich and Pablo Hernandez, both players who are in their 30s.

Has Victor Orta eyed up Zaracho as a long-term replacement for one of those? Based on the reactions of some fans on Twitter, they hope the Argentina international could be.

Here is a selection of their tweets:

We will take this transfer link with a pinch of salt for now.

While we won’t write off stories that emerge from South America, we might see a lot of Argentinean news outlets linking Leeds with Argentinean players simply because it’s an easy link to make to attract some attention.

In other Leeds United news, Mateusz Klich has reacted to news of Jack Charlton’s death.
