UEFA twist was on cards for Andrea Radrizzani after Leeds United takeover news – Finance Expert
We’re delighted to welcome football finance expert Dr Daniel Plumley as our exclusive columnist. Each week he’ll be giving his views on the biggest talking points at Leeds United...
Dan Plumley has insisted that UEFA would have had questions for Andrea Radrizzani if he had remained at Leeds United alongside his new takeover of Sampdoria.
It was suggested that the Italian was considering staying at Elland Road for another push at promotion, but the Daily Mail has since reported that an agreement is in place with the 49ers Enterprises for a full takeover.
The finance expert admitted that a full exit is now likely, either way, with his latest moves surrounding Elland Road leaving a sour taste around his spell in charge.

“It was coming into play in terms of the multi-club questions,” he exclusively told MOT Leeds News.
“It would have become a question for UEFA with people who have multiple investments in clubs, and it’s only if those two clubs play against each other then you have a little bit of an issue.
“It’s not beyond the realm of possibilities, but the more recent developments around the stadium, that’s going to leave a real sour taste for the fans.
“Given all of those things and how it appears to be running, if there ever was a suggestion that this would be a can he do both, that is probably out of the water. We are now looking at full exit given the other issues around the situation.”

There is hope that the 49ers Enterprises will complete their takeover before the end of this week, spelling the end of a contrasting few years at the club for Radrizzani.
Potentially offering Elland Road as collateral to help his takeover of Sampdoria was the final straw, and that is when the multi-club model burned before him.
The Italian will somehow leave with more bad memories than good, despite his work before this year.
In other Leeds United news, the club may now face a losing battle to keep their star player at Elland Road beyond the summer transfer window.
