Tottenham ace Oliver Skipp to ‘rebuild his career’ at Leeds United as Tuesday deal announced
Dan Bardell has urged Leeds United to sign Oliver Skipp from Tottenham after Glen Kamara was sold to Stade Rennais.
The Finland international confirmed the transfer with a goodbye message to the Whites’ fans via Instagram on 16 July.
The 28-year-old has joined Archie Gray out the exit door at Elland Road, leaving Daniel Farke’s squad light in midfield.
Sky Sports and talkSPORT journalist Bardell has mooted Leeds-linked Skipp as a potential replacement for Kamara in the transfer window.
Speaking exclusively to MOT Leeds News, Bardell said: “It is clear that they need one or two players in that position.
“They’ve gotten a fair amount of money for him, that £10m may give them scope to buy someone better than Kamara. They definitely need reinforcements, they can’t go into the new season without.
“A deal for Oliver Skipp could be one that makes sense as a replacement.
“He’s a player who probably needs a change of scenery and needs to drop down from the Premier League to rebuild his career. I can see that move, that would certainly be sensible.“

Losing Kamara is going to be tough for Farke given the lack of senior midfield options he now has available to him.
The Whites face Portsmouth on 10 August, leaving Leeds just three weeks to recruit midfield options from the transfer market.
Losing Gray to Tottenham was a blow and losing the former Rangers star to Ligue 1 this summer has compiled that problem.
Skipp would certainly go someday to solving any issues that have arisen at Elland Road after losing the pair this summer.
The former England youth international has flourished in the Championship with Norwich City in the past so could be a positive option for the Whites.

A loan deal with a buy option could be useful or a permanent deal may be available if Tottenham are looking to part ways.
