By MOT Leeds News speaking to Paul Robinson

We’re delighted to welcome former England goalkeeper Paul Robinson as our exclusive columnist as each week he’ll be giving his views on the biggest talking points at Leeds United…

Paul Robinson has been raving about Patrick Bamford despite his struggles in front of goal for Leeds United in their loss against Arsenal on Sunday.

Bukayo Saka’s first-half goal was enough for the Gunners to secure a 1-0 win at Elland Road but Bamford, 28, would have been disappointed to have not been on the scoresheet himself.

He missed a penalty and failed to convert a couple of one-on-one chances as Leeds failed to win yet again in the Premier League.

Bamford has now missed more big chances than any other player in the Premier League this season [8] despite suffering from injury issues.

But Robinson was impressed by the striker’s overall contribution against Arsenal after he came off the bench at half time to replace Rodrigo.

“Bamford changed the game when he came on,” Robinson told MOT Leeds News.

I like the way Rodrigo’s playing this year. I think he’s in really good form but he had a poor first half.

Patrick came on for him at half time and then changed the game.

Leeds, as a whole, changed and they pressed higher, they didn’t allow Arsenal to have possession and they swarmed them all over the field.

But Bamford was excellent, he really made a difference.

If he can play like that every week, Leeds won’t have a lot of problems this season.”

In other Leeds United news, this “remarkable” Leeds loanee was hailed by a controversial Sky Sports pundit at the weekend.
