Sky Sports pundit: Mateusz Klich footage could be behind Leeds United development on Monday
We’re delighted to welcome former England goalkeeper Paul Robinson as our exclusive columnist as each week he’ll be giving his views on the biggest talking points at Leeds United...
Paul Robinson believes it’s likely that Mateusz Klich’s touchline disagreement with Jesse Marsch led to the Leeds United midfielder being taken off at half-time on Monday.
Klich, 31, was replaced by Robin Koch ahead of the second half of Leeds’ 0-0 draw with Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park on 25 April.
After the game, Marsch was quoted by LeedsLive as saying that the decision to take Poland midfielder Klich off wasn’t due to an injury.
During the game, which was broadcast on Sky Sports, eagle-eyed fans noticed a brief touchline disagreement between Marsh and Klich.
Robinson feels that the footage suggests why Klich was actually taken off.
“If there was a disagreement between a player and a manager, there’s only ever one winner,” Robinson told MOT Leeds News. “We’ve seen that before at Selhurst Park with Richarlison for Everton.
“It’s not the first time we’ve seen a player hauled off much to his disapproval.

“But if he’s arguing with the manager and not carrying out the instructions the manager wants, there’s only one winner because at the end of the day, if the team doesn’t win, it’s the manager’s head that’s on the block.
“The manager makes the decisions and if the team on the field aren’t carrying out his tactics or orders, then it will be to the player’s detriment.
“If that was the case, that’s what we saw against Palace.”
