Sky Sports pundit: Leeds United to go for striker transfer as news emerges

We’re delighted to welcome former England goalkeeper Paul Robinson as our exclusive columnist as each week he’ll be giving his views on the biggest talking points at Leeds United.

Paul Robinson has insisted that Leeds United will finally go for their “priority” transfer of a new striker in the upcoming January transfer window.

The Sky Sports pundit admitted that it is “good news” coming out of Elland Road as they could also push for a new left-back to cover glaring gaps in their squad.

It comes after it was reported that not one, but two new attackers could arrive once the World Cup has come to an end and the transfer window opens.

“It has been the number one priority that for a long time,” he exclusively told MOT Leeds News.

“They’ve had a couple of quiet windows in terms of big spends after selling Kalvin Phillips and Raphinha so they’ve brought money in for the last window. If they’re going to go out and spend, it would be harsh on Rodrigo because he’s done well but it is an area they need to strengthen.

Patrick doesn’t seem to be able to get fully fit and when he does, he picks Rodrigo ahead of him so it’s an area they need to strengthen so it’s good news that they are looking at that as well as a left-back.”

Victor Orta looks set to be a busy man in January.

With the Spaniard currently in Qatar for the World Cup, he could be casting his eye over a handful of players as he looks to make a real difference in a couple of months’ time.

All eyes will be on Elland Road as soon as January arrives, with good news already said to be coming.
