Muniz to keep Leeds in Premier League after transfer latest

This article includes exclusive comment from former Leeds United goalkeeper Paul Robinson.

Rodrigo Muniz could be leading the line for Leeds United in the Premier League.

Daniel Farke has welcomed several new additions to Elland Road ahead of his and Leeds’ return to the Premier League. However, signing a striker remains high up on the list of priorities.

As a result, the Whites are linked with a move for Fulham’s Muniz.

The Brazilian scored 11 times for the Cottagers last season in all competitions, including eight in the Premier League.

Leeds would be getting a gem with Muniz

Leeds are said to be readying a new push to sign Muniz this summer. However, they may be waiting on the sales of Mateo Joseph and Patrick Bamford to do so.

Paul Robinson, when speaking exclusively to MOT Leeds News, was full of praise for the Brazilian and emphasised the influence he could have at Leeds.

Robinson said: “Yeah, he’s the type of player I’d like. He’s a top player, and that’s a signing that makes you stand up and take notice.

“That’s a player who you look at and you go, yeah, he could score between 12 and 15 goals, maybe more, if given the service and keep Leeds in the Premier League.

“Muniz is a Premier League-proven player, and he’s the player that would strengthen Leeds without a shadow of a doubt. And he’s a player who could quickly become a fan’s favourite if he started scoring goals.

“None of the signings so far jump off the page and go, wow, what a player that’s going to be for us. However, with Muniz, you go, yeah, do you know what? That’s a real player. He could make a difference.”

Leeds are a striker away from survival contention

With Lucas Perri now through the door, the striker position is the only glaringly obvious weakness in this Leeds United squad.

If Muniz signs, that will be addressed, and the Whites will be in a very good spot ahead of their return to the Premier League.

With a few weeks still to go until the season starts, time is on their side to secure that arrival.
